First of all I always say that a book is good if youcan remember it after you put it down. well i did not get change to read previous novles in this eries before picking up the new one but i DID ACTUALLY REMEMBER THE SERIES and some of the characters and story lines, so it wasn'thard to start this book without pre re-reading.and i was able to read it quickly, about 3 hours, however this book was FULL OF my PET PEEVES. 1. jenna doesn't choose to go to the compound, she's taken there. 2. jenna escapes unnecessarily and several people die because of it. 3. if you read pale demon, everyone tells rachel she can't get on that plane, but she makes everyone WAIT for her..... yada yada and it doesn't turn out well 4. jenna decides to meet with authorites even thought they all say don't and several people die because of it.............. 5. her and brock get intimate but they each have their own issues which prevent true happiness for several chapters, i guess it's the author's way of creating angst. it's annoying............. and of course it's a bridge book as i like to call them even though it's book 8 in the series and the 2nd book of the alaska group (shades is book 7) it opens up a whole new bunch of questions... cliffhanger....... 1. kiss of midnight 2. kiss of crimson 3. midnight awakening 4. midnight rising 5. veil of midnight 6. ashes of midnight 7. shades of midnight 8. taken by midnight 9. deeper than midnight
Awesome series. Great story line and the romance is HOT
I bought this book because I have read the prior seven in the series. It is a page turner that inclused a lustful and romantic love story within a twist on a vampire story. Love them. Can't wait for the next one that comes out in June. Avid reader
