| One of the better film-based titles ever released, Super Star Wars recreates the look, feel and sound of the popular space opera incredibly well. Armed with a blaster or a lightsaber and the ability to run, jump, duck, slide and roll, players blast Imperial Stormtroopers on Mos Eisley, battle aliens in the Cantina, attack Tie Fighters in the trenches of the Death Star, pilot a cannon-enhanced Landspeeder, and much more. Certain key scenes are missing (such as the trash compactor episode and the escape from the Death Star via the Millenium Falcon), but this is simply nitpicking as the game recreates the Star Wars experience incredibly well. Players begin as Luke Skywalker and will eventually control Han Solo and Chewbacca. The game has cool cut- scenes, excellent rotation and scaling effects, a CD-quality musical score, and authentic-sounding (if sparse) voice effects. Best of all, gameplay, in both the vehicle and platforming scenes, is rock solid (even though sliding is a bit awkward). The only real setbacks are frequent slowdown, a frustration-inducing lack of a save feature, and the fact that Princess Leia is not a playable character. | |

The Super Star Wars games are held in high regard, and frankly I don't see why. It is my opinion that they suck royally. Respawning enemies, hellacious platform jumping that requires master timing, enemies that take too long to know kill even on the EASY setting, and lousy hit detection, these do not make a great game. If you want fun, buy Mario or Sonic, but do yourselves a favor and say no to all three Super Star Wars games. They are just not worth it.

The Force is Strong with this one!
Never had chance to play this back in the day. Blown away by the soundtrack instantly. The sounds of the game are movie accurate- especially the blaster! Gameplay is pretty tight, you can shoot in 8 directions. Very challenging game however, be warned even on easiest setting you will find a lot of the platforming on the hard side and on certain levels you must figure out where to go. Overall very satisfied with this and would recommend any retro gamer or Star Wars fan or both to add this one to your collection today if you don't already have it!

awesome series, awesome game
this snes series is actually one of if not the best starwars game series in existence. here is my breakdown of the series using a 5 star rating system. super star wars 3/3/4stars super empire strikes back 4 1/2 stars super return of the jedi 5 stars (easily one of the best side scrolling action games ever made imo. i give the series a 4 star rating as a whole. the first in the series is a great game but they just get exponentially better as they progress. jedi is outstanding.
A great SNES title
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, there was this great system that could handle huge galactic battles, without blast processing. The game starts off kinda slow, but then throws everything it can at you to ensure your defeat. Though you can adjust the difficulty, no matter which you choose, it will take all your jedi skills to reach the end. A great game if you're into the old school challenge and Star Wars in general.
Great Interaction
Everything was as pictured. Very responsive as well as friendly. Offered to purchase at a later date at a certain price and accepted to "hold" Certainly helped improve the collection. 15/10 would reccomend.
