Spider-Man leaves his "friendly" neighborhood of New York City to embark on a 20-level adventure set in such exotic locales as Nepal, Tokyo, Egypt, and Transylvania. Throughout his travels, Spidey must physically "convince" some of his greatest enemies to help him defeat a more pervasive threat to the world: a vast army of symbiotes. The developers borrowed elements from the film trilogy as well as the comic book series to create a vibrant, cartoon-like art style designed to appeal to younger audiences. One of Friend or Foe's key features is its cooperative play mode, in which a friend can enter the fray at any point in the game and immediately start pummeling enemies. Spider-Man can eventually call on the help of 12-plus potential sidekicks. Playable enemies include Green Goblin, Sandman, Doc Ock, and Venom, while friendly companions include Blade and Iron Fist. The action sequences involve using each character's distinct fighting moves and special attacks to eliminate groups of onscreen foes. Solo players can instantly switch between Spidey and his selected sidekick, allowing for specific team-up and combo moves. Hidden throughout each 3D world are a number of tokens and collectibles to unlock bonus content, from head-to-head battle arenas to extra costumes and other surprises. |

Spider-Man: Friend or Foe a Great Game for the $$
My 8 year old son is a fan of the Spectacular Spiderman cartoon series and this game has most of the villains from it and more. The concept is great. There is a story line that lets you pick up villains as allies, you can buy increased abilities for Spidey and your "friends" as you complete levels and earn tokens, there are cool combination fighting moves, and best of all you can play two-player in both the story mode and in a separate arena mode (which is a blast). The only con to this game is that the story-line levels get a little repetitive after a while. They try to mix it up by changing the color of the phantoms and giving them a few new tricks to overcome, but really it's the same basic thing for each level. However on several levels you have to defeat the villain in order to bring them on as an ally and that's a decent challenge. Overall it's a great game for anyone who likes Spiderman comics, movies, or cartoons.

BEAT ALL OF IT IN A WEEK RENTAL !
Now this is a game that deserves a 3.5 out 5 stars score. It plays in the same style of Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks and also Justice League Heroes; so if you were into those games, this one is a must play (great Co-op). There are a couple of reasons why it doesn't get a perfect score. First reason, Spiderman always has to be present; so even if you get all of the game characters unlocked, you will need to be trading characters with your partner; the only way to play with 2 different characters is in the Vs. arena. Second, the level of difficulty is for beginners to intermediate players and there are no changes to this. Third, the length of the game is almost laughable; I believe there are 5 missions and 4 levels inside of each mission. We beat this game in 2 sittings. After beating the game we wanted to try all of the characters and unlocked almost everything, we were not able to find a couple of things but we are not the type that just goes and try to get everything out of a game. I recommend just renting it.

Love the Game
My son loves to play this game. He has completed every stage and still plays it all the time. I like that there are hidden areas at every stage where you can find different objects. The games also have you collect coins so that you can buy extra powers for spiderman and the other characters you join with when you defeat them. However, the game is a little too easy as there is no end to the amount of lives you get. In other words, you can keep dying without any repercussions.

Spider-Man: Friend or Foe For PlayStation 2 PS2
If you are a fan of Spider-Man and some of his more famous Villians, including Venom, this game is for you. The game play can be repetative in terms of the villians you are fighting and are often to easy to beat, even more so when you upgrade you characters. The added element of choosing who you team-up with and being able to switch back and forth between your co-op and Spider-Man add an extra element to the game play. Overall it's a great game if you are a fan of Spider-Man, I mean what other game lets you play as Doc Ock, Rhino, Iron Fist, etc.

Great game for kids -mild violence - no blood
I play this with my 6 year old with a good conscience. Go ahead - buy it! Let me say too, it's a very easy game for young ones to play. Nor does it take hours and hours to play it. Time that most of us don't have these days.
