| Sony's ATV Offroad Fury series races back on to PlayStation 2, with new features and a return of the online multiplayer modes highlighted in the 2002 version of the game. In ATV Offroad Fury 3 players can choose from over two dozen all-terrain vehicles, each with more than 20 customizable parts. Races take place across more than 30 different courses, made up of ice, snow, mud, dirt, water, and grass terrain types. Mini-games include "tag," "treasure hunt," "king of the hill," and others. Up to six virtual racers can compete online, through the PS2 Network Adaptor, and real-time voice chat is supported for those with a compatible USB headset device. While earlier Offroad Fury releases came from Rainbow Studios, this 2004 edition was developed by Climax Group, which had previous success with its own cross-platform ATV: Quad Power Racing off-road racing games. | |

the offroad series has made its mark among quad fans the world over. i had heard good things about this game and decided to buy it. having owned fury 2 i was hoping for all the best worked over and the bad left behind. the genie didnt grant my entire wish much to my disappointment. the game play has been greatly improved since the second installment of the series, including longer air time, the ability to power slide your quad, and loads of new tricks to do to gain points including ground stunts. another great thing about this version is the MASSIVE amount of ground to be covered. with more tracks than ever before and even larger maps you can literally get lost in any one of the 25+ tracks and terrain types avalible. another greatly improved feature is the garage option. on previous games the adjustment options were sketchy at best and left something to be desired, on fury 3 they are easier to use and allow the purchase of new exhausts and tires which greatly effect how you quad handles in the different terrain types. gaining new parts give you a reason to bust moves and tricks to earn credits so you can tune your way to the top. customizing your ride is also now even easier to use and allows you to paint your quad and rider to stand out from the crowd. now for the bad. we all know how brand specific riders can be. thats the most missed feature of fury 2. the quads on fury 3 dont bear any manufactures names so picking a ride based on brand is impossible. they have however managed to make some of the rides on fury 3 look VERY similar to certain quads. if you want a brand specific ride then the closest thing you can do is pick your ride and try and paint match the color scheme as dictated by the manufacturers. this still however isnt as satisfying as riding the quad from the company you want. every other aspect of this installment is better than the first two but because of no big name brand support i have to give this game the good rating instead of the excellent rating. i do however suggest to pick this game up if your into riding. you wont be disappointed by the game play.
Present for Father's Day
MY PACKAGE CAME 3 DAYS EARLY! My dad's ATV game got lost a couple years ago and he's been missing it and he believes that the one that he lost was ATV Offroad Fury 3. When I gave him his present he was really happy, but when we popped it into the PS2 we found out that it wasn't the right ATV game which was kind of sad and was my fault, but he still enjoyed the game very much and was happy to have it. Thank you.

New game
Brand new. Great shipping. Disc looks beautiful. This is the first time I've opened a brand new PlayStation game. Even if it's not that rare of a game, which it isn't at all, it's pretty cool. I think I might have played this once, but from what I could tell, Rainbow Studios didn't work on this one. People say 3 and 4 were where it all went wrong (and Rainbow leaving is likely why), although I'm not prepared for the worst. I'm sure they're still fine games. I also like the band stickers; the key focus being the Chevelle one. So cool. These games, especially the 2nd (my favorite and a childhood game), are known for their soundtracks. And their super cool covers IMO.

ATV fury 3
Sorry, this third installment just doesn’t do it for me. The first was the reason I bought a PS2, the second was a beautiful refinement that had all sorts of extras and reasons to keep playing. Playing this one, (as both an avid quad rider and video game dork) is like having a quad land on your chest. I wish Rainbow would come back, and bring the magic back to video game quad riding. The new moves were great ideas. You can power-slide around turns, and bicycle up on two side wheels, just like a real quad. The wheelies and stoppies are also great. So I have established that the new moves are realistic and appropriate additions, so what went wrong? The stages feel contained, like you can only ride in a circular area. Where is the freedom of quad riding? The textures, art, and environments are bland at best, which makes the exploration aspect of quad riding dull and pointless. You can see things all around you that would be great to ride your imaginary ATV onto, but you cannot, because of the uninspired mediocrity of this game. It does nothing to push the envelope, or further the genre. Take a lesson from Rockstar, free-roaming is what we want. I want an unlockable quad that has a rocket on it. I want to sometimes get off of my quad. I want to be able to use the right stick to use the camera so I can see my surroundings. Is that so much to ask? This game only exists to profit from an established franchise, without contributing a shred of originality. Don’t buy this game. 5/10.
