Still great after 20 years. More like Gen Fun!
My original review got deleted so I can't go into much detail, sorry. This game is fantastic! I grew up on Gen 3 (FireRedLG, RubySE) and wasn't sure I'd appreciate Red, but I've been loving every hour of it. Exploring Kanto is very fun and catchingattling Pokemon is just as thrilling as ever. Newer Pokemon fans may notice that you can't run, but once you have the bike it's not too big of an issue. The game's many glitches also offer an interesting experience. Missingno. and the "Mew trick" may be the most famous, but there's a lot of other odd things to discover and try out, too. Just like any other Pokemon game, it has its ups and downs, and is very enjoyable in its own right. The main caveat of buying this game in 2018, however: as always, you can't get all 150+1 Pokemon legitimately without trading between games, and good luck finding someone else near you in real life who plays Gen 1.

One of the two original Pokemon titles released in America. An exciting first step in the ever expanding pokemon world, Red and Blue takes you through the region of Kanto; where you collect, train, and battle Pokemon on a quest to become the best there ever was and catch them all. This game sports the original cast of 151 Pokemon; the truest and original test of a trainers metal! Only a select number of those 151 appear in this game, however, and you'll need a friend with a Blue or Yellow version to actually catch em all. For those of you who've played it, you know about its majesty. And, for those of you who've never touched a Pokemon game, this is the place to start Pokemon red and blue was an instant classic when it came out. While its pretty straight forward, there is potential for very involved strategy.For example, Fire type creatures are strong against Grass type creatures - and also the Ice types. The Ice types are strong against Ground and Grass, and Grass is also strong against Ground. And so on. its a game of strategy and i recommend it if you want to play one of the 2 games that started the pokemon revolution.

Good buy
Game is in great shape and as far as I can tell this is an authentic copy. Saves perfectly since there is a new battery. Shipped fairly fast also. Little pricey but I’d rather pay for quality and authenticity.

The original and the battery still works.
Pokemon has been a franchise that's been going on for over 20 years. The original Red and Blue is where it started in the US and despite it being rereleased for the 3DS I still like to play it on my Game Boy sometimes. The original coin cell in the game still saved the game but I don't expect it to last another year.

I have been wanting to get a hold of this game for forever! The save works, it's not glitchy or anything (not sure if that's possible)! I was super worried about ordering one online cause I didn't want to get burned, but I couldn't ask for better condition at this price! It's worth the buy! 😀😀
