EA's long-running cat-and-mouse racing series returns with more police chases, a new scoring system, and seamless multiplayer action in Need for Speed Rivals. Gamers head to the open world of Redview County, where they can play as a lone racer looking to outsmart and outmaneuver the fuzz, or they can join a crew of cops and try to track down flamboyant speedsters. A variety of gadgets and abilities are available to each side, with racers using turbo boosts, electromagnetic pulses, and jammers, and the police calling in roadblocks and helicopter support. The new all-or-nothing scoring system rewards racers with multipliers and quicker progression if they can remain on the lam for as long as possible before finding a hideout, but if the cops make a bust, they earn all the points. Players can choose from more than a dozen supremely powered supercars, including the BMW M3 GTS, the Ferrari Enzo, and the Hennessey Venom GT, and each vehicle can be upgraded with new paintjobs, decals, rims, license plates, and performance enhancements. The new All-Drive system is designed to offer a seamless transition between multiplayer action and solo adventures, letting gamers challenge friends to races at any time, without the need for lobbies. |

Good but needs multiplayer to be fun.
I got this for my brother. It came on time in good condition. The gameplay and graphics are good, but this game is really designed for multiplayer. It can't be paused, and without other players, there isn't to much to do. So, while the game is good, I wouldn't recommend that you get it unless you can used the multilayer.

A Challenging Game but probably not a game for most
This game isn't like most NFS games ... It takes some getting use to It's more difficult than most... You can't set your skill level, and the racer part can be rather difficult to complete the required tasks that are set to achieve to advance to the next level,, and may take many attempts to achieve... but there is a great number of cars you can obtain on both sides ( Cop or Racer ) though the police cars cannot be upgraded as can the racers cars

Not perfect but Fun fast-paced action filled game
This game is fast. The AI is at times too fast to a point it makes the game not fun because the rival vehicle seems to be able to take corners faster (and unrealistically) than the player is able to without wrecking. Although this game is great fun to play it could have been even better if it had included various game modes such as easy, medium and hard. Then the player could decide how difficult we wanted to make the game. NFS Rivals could have also been made better if it allowed the ability to change default actions and buttons on the xbox controller. The graphics are great but in online multiplayer mode I have noticed flickering scenery, freezing gameplay and some strange rival vehicle behavior. Private and single player offline mode has worked flawless so far. Overall I would recommend trying out NFS Rivals that may even get your heart racing too.

FUN starts with the power button
This game is one of the funnest games that I have ever purchased. I have probably 15 racing games and this one is so fun. The details are great, it is almost like being in the car. You lose cops, make your path the way you want to go, when you crash, you can actually see parts of the car fly off. You always try to out run the police, and out smart them, imagine anyway while you are in the car driving down the street. In this game, you do out smart the police, and you can hide on them and watch them fly by you. Then you go back to the starting point and get rebuilt. The choice of cars that you get to drive is really cool. All in all, I would recommend this game to anyone who wants a life like adventure and good time, and to drive a fast car...

Disappointment
This game has some of the greatest graphics I've ever seen and is loaded with so much potential. It's just terrible that Electronic Arts neglected to incorporate any Steering Wheel/ Gamepad Support. So, you're just left with only Keyboard and Mouse. Such a shame.
