|Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance for the Xbox 360 (as well as PS3) is a high-octane hack-and-slash action game set within Konami’s rich Metal Gear games universe. Cast as a near-unrecognizable, cybernetically-enhanced version of Raiden, the protagonist from earlier Metal Gear titles from Konami, players throw themselves at the enemy with his blade to take them apart by extreme force. As such, this installment in the Metal Gear franchise, developed by PlatinumGames, represents a sea change in gameplay mechanics. In Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, stealth mode is all but thrown out the window in favor of brute force – owing to cyborg strength – and spectacular destruction. Far from hiding in the shadows of environmental features, Raiden often cuts them to pieces. Unlike past titles in the franchise, which have tended to be rather gun-centric, this addition focuses more on stunning katana swordplay, along with kicks, punches, and other close combat techniques. With narrative nods to earlier Metal Gear games, and in particular, to the Sons of the Patriots story, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is set four years after the events of Metal Gear Solid 4. Hired by a private security contractor to protect an African prime minister, Raiden finds his work cut out for him when his charge is kidnapped – setting the stage for this refreshingly turbo-charged video game. Throughout Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance for Xbox 360, Raiden has the chance to unlock rewards and develop skills against a range of cybernetic, often rocket-launching, enemies. Despite Raiden’s awesome power and speed, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance offers plenty of challenging gameplay for more advanced players. Between combos and precision swordplay – of increasing importance against more difficult bosses – there’s a sense of satisfaction to be had. The right stick on the Xbox 360 controller guides the direction of Raiden’s katana blade, affording a choice between killing enemies or removing their arms. In some cases, the latter is necessary to obtain data implants and upgrades. The vast majority of objects in the game can also be destroyed, and thanks to a consistent frame rate – even as the game calculates complex reactions to precision strikes – all of the fast-paced action in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance swims along at stunning speed. Camera movements are also well calibrated to keep up with Raiden and his charge of carnage against the enemy. Despite the unprecedented shift in gameplay mechanics, many cherished hallmarks of the Metal Gear series continue to make an appearance in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, from compelling characters and optional in-game conversations to the trademark stealth meter and virtual reality (VR) mission practice mode. Complete with a suite of downloadable content (DLC) in addition to the in-game achievements, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance for the Xbox 360 has plenty of replay value. DLC includes alternate cyborg body types for the player character (Cyborg Ninja, MGS4 Raiden, White Armor, Inferno Armor, and Commando Armor) along with various VR Missions and bonus campaigns. The bonus campaigns available as DLC each have a different protagonist, with Jetstream being played through as Raiden’s rival Samuel Rodrigues, and Bladewolf being played through as the dog-like robot LQ-84i. A fun and exhilarating installment to the critically-acclaimed Konami video games series, not to mention a worthy follow up to the Metal Gear Solid 4 story, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance for the Xbox 360 is highly playable for a range of gamers. It has an ESRB games rating of M as a guide warning of intense gaming violence and gore. It was also released for the PlayStation 3 (PS3).|

Raiden's back... with a Revengeance!
I'll start off by saying that I have never played a Metal Gear game in my life (gasp!), but I am somewhat familiar with the gameplay and story line of the series. With that being said, this game plays out very differently from past Metal Gear games such as Snake Eater and the incredible Guns of the Patriots in the fact that this is a fast paced game that doesn't put much emphasis on stealth as the others did. What you're playing is a fast paced hack and slash game that gives you very little time to breathe before the next battle begins. I don't want to go too much into the story as I don't want to accidentally spoil anything, but what I will say is it's a pretty good storyline that has its fair share of action and a small touch of humor. All the characters are acted well and provide for some unique boss battles. I really liked the graphics. Not just visually, but it runs very fluidly with pretty much no lag. If you've played Bayonetta then you kinda get the jist of where I'm going with that. The soundtrack is what won me over. I hear people say its odd and it's too much rock music but in my opinion I think its perfect. Now the big topic at hand: the gameplay. You have two main attacks; a light and fast attack, along with a heavy and moderate paced attack. Along with that, you have an arsonal of secondary weapons that you pick up like grenades and rocket launchers, along with cardboard boxes and drum cans for the occassional stealth sections. The biggest bulk of your attacks and the funnest by far is blade mode. This is where time slows down and you can cut up your enemies however you please. Not only can you cut up enemies, you can cut up about 90% of the surrounding. Whether it be cars, trees, lightpoles, chances are you can slice it up. My only gripe is the block attack move. How you do it is you move the stick in the direction the enemy is coming and press X at the same time to par the attack. It's awkward at first, but with practice you'll get the idea of it. All in all, this is a great game and one you should definitely pick up if you're big into hack and slash games. If you're like me and you have never played a Metal Gear game in the past, what I can tell you is you won't feel lost in the story playing this. From what I understand, it takes place four years after Guns of the Patriots. That's incase any fans of the series were wondering where it fit in the timeline. Bottom line: don't pass this up.
My thought about the cool awesome game i got
This game is really fun i really enjoy it is really fun and it can be a bit of a challenge sometimes but it is really fun and the sound track that it comes with is one of the best game sound tracks i have ever heard and i feel very fortunate to own both these because the only way to get them is if you get the collectors edition if you have the money for it i did not so that is why i got this and it is one of my all time favorite games on my 360 and i feel happy to have it the story and plot line of the game is really good and the art style and character design and art work put into the game is really good i really really enjoy the game i highly recommend it to any older gamer and although i have not beaten the game myself i am really getting a good understanding of it and i cant wait to see how it turns out in the long run of the game and i hope all of you out their who are reading this can get a good perspective from my point of view and i hope you also get thew game for your self and leave your reviews for me to see as well so i know how you like it .

Metal Gear's in action mode is what "Rising" is all about. As much as I love how the way Hideo Kojima make his game, this is not so much different at all coming from a 3rd party developer Platinum game's. They made it so well that the storyline can related to Kojima's in all aspect. The game start out with Raiden protecting a president in Africa. After failing the mission to protect him, Raiden and his crew is out to find the the guy behind this. If you have played "Son of Liberty" and remember the final mission where Raiden did his sword played for a short period of time, then you are going to love this game. The sword play for this game is one of the best if not second. I recommended this game for any Metal Gear's die hard fan out there.
Metal gear rising

Another Platinum Games hit!
Not a true Metal Gear game, but a true Platinum Games action masterpiece.
