With similar RPG gameplay as other releases in the Mega Man series, Star Force: Leo invites gamers to explore a real world and battle in the "Wave World" as a young man named Geo. Players must navigate Geo through the environments in both worlds while collecting new powers and additional battle cards. When gamers encounter an enemy they are instantly transported into the "Wave World," and must do battle on a 3x5 grid. Using the Battle cards in their portfolio, players execute a variety of healing, melee, defensive, and ranged attacks in order to defeat their foe. Gamers may use the "Brother Band" system to duel friends and swap items from players who own the Dragon and Pegasus versions of the game by connecting to a wireless network. | |

Good graphics
Compelling gameplay
Good value
Love MegaMan Battle Network? This is the series for you and its GOOD.
When Starforce came out it was met with lots of hate by fans for 1) Being another "new MegaMan" and 2) Being too much like Battle Network Yes this is a new type of MegaMan and it is very similar to Battle Network that some have called it Battle Network 7. I can only wonder what type of fan(s) have said this. Those who love Battle Network? Those who don't care for Battle Network at all? I don't know but this game was MADE FOR Battle Network fans AND made to be easier for non-Battle Network fans to try getting into. So I find it very unfortunate if those who loved Battle Network can't appreciate this new series that was mostly made for them. Its like getting a ice cream from from your fave seller then getting sherbet later. Its practically the same thing just slightly different. Yet gets all your hate. Starforce is an easier Battle Network. It's less complex and still stays very fun regardless. Story The characters you interact with have more relevance to the plot and you play as Geo Stellar, a boy who lost his father and is practically the complete opposite of Lan who is cheerful, energetic and has a strong sense of justice. Geo is melancholic, doubtful, and would rather mind his own business than meddle with anyone else. You play as a broken kid who, in time, learns to trust others and opens up to others in his adventure with an alien who he ends up merging with named Omega-Xis or (Mega for short). The human world is getting invaded by aliens who have connections to Geo's dad and the boy wants answers but has to fight in order to get those answers and stop the aliens from invading the planet in the process. Battle System Like Battle Network, this is an RPG. Geo plays differently than Lan/MegaMan entirely. The grid is much shorter as you can only move 3 spaces horizontally. In BN this would mean you only have your back column while the enemy has every other space. However for Geo this is perfectly fine as he has a BLOCK mechanic and can defend ANY projectile attack. Physical attacks have to be dodged however. The buster works differently as well and I enjoy this the most of it. Instead of mashing the button to fire, you hold the button for rapid fire and instead of holding the button to charge, you just let it go and stop attacking and it auto-charges for you. Battles chips now called Battle Cards no longer have codes but no longer can you make Program Advances (not until Starforce 3 anyway). You still make a folder of 30 cards and in battle they are laid out in a 2x3 grid. All same name cards you can select just like BN or chips in the same column can be selected instead. They did keep a certain aspect from BN like the * coded cards now called Favorites. When making your folder you pick 6 to be favorites. These cards gain a white border instead of yellow and they ignore the 2 rules just mentioned. You can take 2 chips in a column and 3 white chips in the other slots if you so felt like it. There is no MB limit either so ANY card can be made as a favorite. Simple, and effective. Geo also has a Lock-On feature as well as Shield, where he will zoom up close to the enemy for a point blank attack, very useful for swords when enemies are far away from you. Even though you have far less room to move in, you have those 2 features at all times that you can use if you need them making battles fun and fast paced just like Battle Network. This is a great game and with 3 versions, each with a different form to use, get some friends to play!
Great price and functionality. Very nostalgic
The price was better than anywhere else I could find and it works great! It's letting me relive one of the best games of my childhood in a new way and I love it.

Best Mega Man storyline out of all the Mega Man games.
The first of the Starforce series. I think Mega Man Star Force has a great storyline, and the characters are well-developed. Even though it's a continuation of the Battle Network series and has a similar battle system, I find MMSF's battle system easier to work with. No need to deal with letters for choosing battle cards, just card in the same column or that are the same. MMSF deals with issues of loneliness, which I think they've tackled very well, brings forth good morals for the player. It's a rather emotional game, although the X series was probably more dramatic.
Great Game! Mega Man fans should play this game!
Being a long time Mega Man fan, Mega Man Star Force is a good entry into the series. Those who have played and enjoyed the Battle Network series that would like a similar game, this is where to look. But for those who are only familiar with the Original Series or X Series this is much different then them. It is more story based and has lots of talking. Overall this is a great game and if you are a Mega Man fan this is a game you should look into.
