| Mario Kart 7 for the 3DS has a number of notable features, many of which are a result of a different developer, Retro Studios. For the first time ever, your kart can now transform into a sea or air vehicle. Your vehicle will automatically convert when you reach the appropriate part of the race, and it handles differently in these environments. Almost all of the courses take advantage of this feature in some unique way. Outside of this addition, Mario Kart 7 plays similarly to other games in the Nintendo franchise. Players can choose from over 15 characters from the Super Mario Bros franchise. Legendary heroes, such as Mario and Luigi, are available along with villains like Bowser and Koopa Troopa. This Nintendo 3DS title features over six unlockable drivers, including Wario and Daisy, and five of the drivers, like Lakitu and Wiggler, make their Mario Kart debut with this game. Start with the classic Mario or one of seven other characters before unlocking additional ones. Each of these drivers has a few different karts to select from. The vehicle you choose will determine how you drive on the tracks. For example, choose a light vehicle to drift quickly or pick a heavy vehicle to make it easier to turn. Nintendo Mario Kart 7 for the 3DS features 32 tracks. 16 of these levels were created specifically for this game, and some of them, like DK Jungle, were inspired by Nintendo games such as Donkey Kong Country. The other 16 levels are retro courses from past Mario Kart games in the series. These levels are from video games such as Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart Wii, and Mario Kart DS. Items, which let you knock another racer off the track, return in the 3DS version. Familiar items, such as the red shell, return along with items like the fire flower. There are a variety of single-player modes in this Nintendo Mario 3DS title. Play as a member of the Mushroom Kingdom or even use your Mii character. The primary mode, known as the Grand Prix, has players competing to win a gold trophy in each cup. A cup consists of four levels, and there are eight cups total. As a bonus, there are also cups that let you race through the game levels backward. Completing the cups with a gold trophy unlocks characters, levels, and other rewards. Gamers will also love the Time Trials where they compete for the fastest time on a given course. The Versus mode allows players select who you battle, how many laps there are, and whether items are enabled. Once you've finished the single-player modes, the fun is only just beginning. The online multiplayer modes let you test your skills against other racers on a global scale. Up to eight racers can compete on any track, earning points that increase their rank. If you want to battle your friends, you can use the multiplayer Battle stages that focus entirely on fighting instead of racing. Mario, Luigi, and all of their friends are bound to have a great time. With a rating of E for Everyone from the ESRB, Mario Kart 7 for the Nintendo 3DS is a great time for all ages. Play in a group or go online to match wits with another player online. Very happy with product
Great game, fun for everyone here. Was excited to get it. Its a really cool game and you can link another DS to yours and you only need 1 of you to have the game, you link up your systems and bam there both of you can play the game so it's really cool playing Mario kart together and not having to buy 2 of the same game. Happy household here!! You get to unlock things and cars and customize things you can upgrade a lot. Overall really fun. If you're an an adult or have kids where you all can link up like I said so it's really convenient and awesome for any age. Thanks so much

Mario Cart 7 - mix up of tracks
So, Mario cart 7 is a collaboration of tracks from previous Nintendo consoles. The graphics are the best the 3DS can produce. Some things about the game are annoying. Download and play (up to 8 players), doesn't allow guest players to choose their own carts and character. That's stupid. The game seems to be very child oriented instead of universally age friendly. Not how I remember the game in previous versions. The AI is rather smart and, there is NO WAY to change the difficulty settings. The AImost always attacks the players instead of, the other AI opponents. That's stupid. Princess toadstool and Mario usually seem to always rank highest. Seems like Nintendo has this game rigged for one reason. Popular Nintendo characters only. Meh. Game is decent enough I guess but, in order for local opponents to choose their own car and character, they gave to have their own copy of the game. LAME!!!!

MARIO KART 7, CLASSIC RACING GAME, A LOT OF FUN!!!!
Well Nintendo decided to put out yet another Mario Kart. This is the 7th version of this game. I still remember playing to original released on the SNES quite ofen. This game is a lot of fun and retains all of the elements from the origiginal adds a lot more to it as well. This time around it's in 3D! It is pretty cool. Also there are more characters that you can play with, including your Mii (once you beat all 50CC races) and now you can float through the air as well as drive your kart under water. There are a few new weapon pick ups as well, such as the racoon tail and the ability to shoot fireballs from the fire flower. There is also a 7 icon pick up in which you'll get 7 different weapons at the same time (red shell, green shell, banana, bomb, mushroom, etc.). You unlock character as you go and as you go the races get harder. As well as obtaining a gold trophy in the different cups within the classes, the game rates you from 1 to 3 stars based on driving ability. I imagine that if you get 3 stars on every race from every class you'll unlock something. A completely new feature to this Mario Kart game unlike any other (at least for the hand held variety) is that you can steer simply by moving the 3DS system to the left or right. This is pretty a pretty cool feature but you don't have to race this way if you don't wan't. Main game you can change the setting, however in the balloon pop game you have a 1st person perspective and you have the choice in game of what you do (though you could incorporate both here if you so choose. Also, this Mario Kart game comes equiped with the ability to use the Spot Pass feature and Street Pass (you can exchange information with people you pass on the street such as ghost data and best times and try to beat them. This is in the Mario Kart channal that comes with the game. If you've not checked the manual for this game (which comes within the game itself) note that you CAN delete the saved data by hitting A, B, X and Y at the same time before the Mario Kart 7 logo shows up before the game starts up. Anyone will be able to pick up this game and play, it's pretty straight forward and not too demanding, though like I said, it'll get harder as you go forward, though I suppose that's true with any video game. There are a lot of unique courses, and some you'll recognize from previous Mario Kart games spanning from the SNES all the the way up to this one. If you give this game a shot I don't think you will be disappointed!

Great
Mario Kart 7 hits all the marks making this the best racing game for the system. A fun multiplayer, with great graphics, and challenging at times gameplay. All though one would hope for more in terms of a single player, if you have some friends you can play this title with this is an easy recommendation.

Still Good. Online Flawless.
The game is still awesome, even years after release. People still play Online in 2016, so you fill have a full room of racers. The online is flawless, never had any issues or disconnects.
