Gaming's most popular dance sim series steps out for another number on PS2, bringing new features such as online multiplayer competition and support for the EyeToy USB camera accessory. Internet-connected PS2 gamers can dance head-to-head against others across the country, and work their way up online rankings. Using the EyeToy, players can watch themselves on television, and use their arms and hands to interact with onscreen objects as their feet stay in step with the scrolling arrows. Like earlier PS2 versions of Dance Dance Revolution, Extreme 2 also offers a calorie-counting "Workout" mode and an editor that allows players to create their own custom routines. Musical selections featured in this edition include pop hits and electronica remixes such as "Oops!...I Did It Again" (Akira featuring Susan Z), "Genie in a Bottle" (NC ft. NRG Factory), "Wonderful Night" (Fatboy Slim), "Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now)" (Déjà Vu featuring Tasmin), and "Play That Funky Music" (WG featuring Tony L). |

Good graphics
Compelling gameplay
Good value
A great mix
With the almost dozen mixes of DDR for Playstation/2, choosing a good one can take minutes of song list comparison and review reading. I bought Extreme 2 with the suggestion of a friend and while it's not quite my favorite (MAX2) it's still a great game. The feel of the game is more like the Supernova/2 arcade machines, with Marvelous step being standard. A "Free Play" mode replaces normal arcade mode, sort of an event mode that won't take you back to the main screen if you lose. You'll just go back to the song wheel. To unlock songs, you get points per step for your difficulty level and get to spend these points in a shop. Songs range from 4000-12000 and courses range from 3000-30000. However, to unlock these songs for purchase, you must play the "Dance Master" mode, which is by far the worst part of the game. Trudging through "missions" on Beginner, Light and Standard before reaching Heavy was absolutely a bore. The game mode isn't bad; some of these missions were really quite fun, however it needed to not be the main focus of the game. Song List: http://www.ddrfreak.com/versions/songlist.php?mix=183
It's DDR... Extreme TWO!
Alright well this is the second DDR game that I've ever played. DDR Extreme 1 Was the first one. Because that E1 was the first one that I played, I liked THAT way of sorting the songs. E2 Goes back to the old way of sorting songs. (I think?) So I suppose I still like E1's way of sorting them. But that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the game! Ok well the game... It's DDR. You have a dance mat and you dance. I can do pretty good. I can get A's on basically all of the light songs.. and I can get B's on some of the standard songs, but it's really hard. I suppose this game was meant for the um.. people that can move particularly fast. I have a hard enough time getting a C/D on standard and some people can like get As on heavy and challenge! I don't see how anyone could do that. I can't even do that with the controller! I think they should have put a difficulty in between light and standard :P But that's just me. The songs in this game are alright. I think I liked a little bit more of them in E1. But this one has Speed Over Beethoven, Look to the Sky, Look at us, BUTTERFLY!!, and a few other really good ones. E1 had "A", Cant stop fallin in love, Neverending story, and a few other really good ones too. I really wish they would have put Can't stop fallin in love in this one because that's one of my favorite songs. Here's kinda a funny story. I.. obtained DDR songs before I even played the game or saw it being played. I brought a CD in for a 'friend' to borrow. My art teacher mistook it for a CD to play in class, and later we heard "Butterfly" being played in class. This one kid made fun of me the rest of the year because of that. I guess some people don't appreciate how good the songs of DDR are. Alot of them are remixes of current songs, which make them sound really cool! I never have gotten to play the online version of DDR. I probably never will. It says "For broadband" And I live in the middle of nowhere so i havent gotten to test it. I heard it's not all that good... Overall, this is a good game... if you like DDR. (And I do!) I suppose if you don't like technoish remixated songs then you wouldn't like DDR... Happy Dancing! -Cait-
Very Entretaining !!!!
This game its very cool for kids as well as for adults, its has lots of options you can play by yourself with a friend and even online, as you progress trough the game you gain point that can later be used to buy new songs, also it has and advance option were you can play with two mats at the same time, its gets really dificult so watch out for your steps, it has hits and music you hear in the clubs also you can used random mode so the game will decide for you wich song you will play. You also get challange and every time you complete one challenge you unlock characters.
One of my Favorites DDR
This one is really good, it was pre-owned but very good conditions. Now the game is just like any other DDR it has around 70 songs to play but it includes"The PS2 EYETOY USB CAM" function, wich i haven't try with this one, although i used it with Extreme 1 back in the day and well it was pretty good but me personally don't like it that much or use it for that matrer. The Dance Master Mode is really fun and challenging, unlocking all the hidden songs and stages made this game enjoyable and you could spend hours trying to get everything The song list and dificulty are pretty nice too it has some of the best songs in all the games. The graphics are pretty standar just like any other DDR but the gameplay do goes smooth so its all good. For me this one its a valuble jewel if you want a DDR and see this one in good condition go for it!

Best Game Purchase I've made!
I purchased this game because I love to dance and work out. My husband asked me what was the one playstation game i'd like to have and I couldn't think of one I liked to play...that was until I went to my friends house and played this game with them. I was pregnant at the time but I still loved the different levels it had for then intensity of the dancing. It has lots of different music and each song has 3 different levels of intensity which makes it easy to learn the steps and allows you to gradually get better and better untill you master it. It grades you on how well you did with AAA AA A B C D E The more "perfects" you get the higher the score. there are several different modes, "single" "verses" and "double". these allow you to play by your self, with a firend, or you can challenge your partner to see who can dance better. There is a work out mode, training mode, and an advance master mode where you can earn new songs, cloths, and awards. I really enjoy playing my DDR game. Its the Best! The one thing I don't like about it it that there are so many differnt versions of the game and I don't have the money to purchase them all...they need to put all the differnt versions onto one game....the next game i'll be purchasing will be the one where you can use your own music and creat dance moves for it.!!!!
