Everybody was Kung Fu fighting, and that's exactly what you do in the "Kung Fu" NES game. Fight your way through five levels to rescue your girlfriend from her gang member captors. Explore their castle, and defeat them with both punches and flying kicks. Dodge enemy attacks by jumping over them or crouching beneath them. The faster you defeat a level, and the more health you have left, the better your score will be. There are two difficulty levels, with the higher one bringing more and tougher enemies to face you. You can also play against your friends to determine the NES games champion. There's always time for a rematch. | |

Kung Fu on the original NES
Featured in The Official Nintendo Player's Guide. a must own if going to the complete guide as a collection. Kung fu was a game that i saw bundled with many of garage sale collections back in the day but never owned it, now having the physical cart to play it makes for a very fun addition to the ever expanding collection that is the original Nintendo..

Kung Fu
A straight forward and not so complicated game. I loved playing the arcade original so I have a vested interest already in the game play. I love the sound effects, and simplistic & mindless fun found in this game. You attempt to reach your kidnapped girlfriend held on the top of a 5 level pagoda. You punch and kick your way up 5 levels. I am just not good enough at not getting hit to make it far. This is enjoyable all the same.

Nes Kung Fu
When this was orginally found in the arcades, it was titled " Kung Fu Master ", but when Nintendo ported it, they decided to shorten the title a bit. 5 levels of side-kickin' craziness; this scroller beat-em'-up features a varied cast of weirdo enemies to kick in the crotch: henchmen, midgets, snakes, dragons, giant negroids, and asshole-knife throwers to name a few. One of my favorite things about this title is the digitized " Mwahaahaa's " and " Ho-ho-ho's" not to mention the " arrghs ". When it comes to vintage gaming, I'm always the fan for the synthisized robutt voice.
GREAT GAME!!
The game was an early fighting game. The main character, Thomas, can punch with the A button and kick with the B button. Either move can be done from a standing, crouching or jumping position. Punches are worth twice as much as kicks and do twice as much damage, but their range is shorter. The first floor of the temple contains Grippers and Knife Throwers. Subsequent levels introduce Tom Toms, poisonous moths, fire-breathing dragons, snakes, and confetti balls. Each of the five floors ends with a different boss who must be defeated before Thomas can climb the stairs to the next floor. Thomas must complete each floor within a fixed time. The timer starts at 2000. If it falls below 330, an acoustic warning sounds. If a boss defeats Thomas, the boss laughs. Although there are five bosses, the game only uses two different synthesized laughs. (The NES port uses a third, high-pitched synthesized laugh for the Black Magician.) Once the player has completed all five floors, the game restarts with a more demanding version of the Devil's Temple, although the essential details remain unchanged. A visual indication of the current house is displayed on the screen. For each series of five completed floors, a dragon symbol appears in the upper-right corner of the screen. After three dragons have been added, the dragon symbols blink.
