Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land is a remake of the NES title Kirby's Adventure, which was the second game in the series. Released in 2002 for the Game Boy Advance, Nightmare in Dream Land features updated graphics and sound as well as new sub-games and abilities. The story remains largely the same, however, and allows you to take control of Kirby as he explores seven different worlds in search of the fragments of the Star Rod, which was broken by King Dedede. The levels should be familiar to anyone who has played the original. Except for a few alterations, they have mostly been kept intact. The main character of the game is Kirby, a round and diminutive pink puffball who has the ability to fly around the screen and copy the abilities of his enemies. Depending on what he consumes, he can shoot needles, wield a hammer, or create a tornado. He can also turn into a heavy stone, or he can transform into a wheel and drive straight over his enemies. The copy abilities will open up new strategies and change how you play the game. Nightmare in Dream Land features a combination of old and new abilities for fans of the franchise to enjoy. These unique abilities will help you make your way across Dream Land and defeat the final boss. When you're finished with the main story mode or need a change of pace, Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land also provides several sub-games to challenge your gaming abilities. In the Bomb Rally mini-game, players toss around a live bomb from one character to another; whenever a player accidentally drops the bomb, they are eliminated from the game. In Kirby's Air Grind, Kirby races his opponents to the finish, using his trusted warp star as a skateboard to grind along rails. Meta Knightmare is a variation of the main game, except the player takes control of Kirby's arch-nemesis, Meta Knight, and must complete the game in one go without the ability to save.In addition to these new modes, Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land features a few returning sub-games. The boss endurance mode forces Kirby to defeat all the game's bosses in a certain order and with a limited ability to heal. The Samurai Kirby mode is a quick draw challenge that tests the player's timing and reflexes; when an exclamation mark appears on screen, players must press the button as quickly as possible. For gamers who want to play with friends, this game also features four-player support. With a GBA link cable or a wireless adapter, multiple gamers can connect their systems together and work cooperatively to beat the main mode. They can also compete against each other in one of the competitive sub-games. Whether you're playing alone or with friends, this is a great title for any fan of the series to own. Nintendo developer HAL Laboratory imbues the game with their own unique whimsical style, and Kirby's characteristic abilities inject fun and excitement into the challenge of sweeping past enemies in every level. | |

Good graphics
Compelling gameplay
Good value
Excellent
I've played the original Kirby's Adventure on the NES, and this remake of it is great. Kirby's Adventure/Nightmare In Dreamland is the game that introduced Kirby's iconic ability to copy the powers of his enemies, as the first game didn't have that and just used the eating and shooting mechanic to kill the enemies and bosses. The graphics are quite good and the gameplay is really fun if difficult at times. Definitely worth checking out.

Kirby is cute
Good Kirby game. I play it on my Gamecube system using a start up disc and GBA add on bottom. Can play on big TV. So much fun than handheld. Makes game more fun too. Nice colours and graphics. 😊

It's Kirby
I have played Kirby games before and they are always bright and lighthearted sorts of games. With the title I was expecting a darker side to the little puffball. And yes the story does take a bit darker turn at the start but when you get to the gameplay, It's a Kirby game and is just as lighthearted and kid friendly as other Kirby titles I've played. I haven't gotten to the end yet so I can't say if the whole game continues in that arc but so far it seems to. So just enjoy Kirby in the same sort of game that your so familiar with as he battles baddies in dreamland, again.

BEFORE YOU CLOSE OUT OF THIS PAGE READ THIS!
Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land is one of my personal favorites in the Kirby series. Now this game can be appealing as a gamers gateway into the Kirby franchise or just one of those Kirby games you never got to play. The game itself is a remake of the 1993 NES platformer Kirby's Adventure. Now this isn't your run of the mill remake cause usually nowadays you get hd remakes. This isn't even close to that! The game is beautifully remastered and I seriously mean beautifully adding color to the finest detail to every single part of every stage right down to kirby's bouncy jiggly adorableness. The game has a little bit of difficulty to anyone new to the franchise but it isn't something you'd get so frustrated about you'd chuck your gameboy Advance at the wall and scream. The game is very fun, the music is great, the graphics are just astounding (for the gameboy advance), the story is the games smallest fall back because there is no spoken story till the very end which pretty much explains everything, so it's something to look forward to. The game can be beaten in two days of you play it a lot but otherwise you could take your time and enjoy the game and try to find all the hidden areas and exits to unlock special rooms or power ups throughout the stages and the stage selection area with fun mini games to choose from. All in all the game is a great buy and not something you wanna pass up playing especially if you love side scrolling platformers :)
A Classic Remake
Kirby, Nightmare in Dreamland is a remake of the classic NES game Kirby's Adventure. Nintendo gives you nothing but good, clean platform fun, with plenty of minigames and powers. The game is simple and you can finish it in 2 hours at the most, but its a game you can just sit down and enjoy a little at a time when you need a break. There is replay value with boss rush mode and playing the game through as an extra character. The only thing wrong is that it is easy. Kirby games do not provide too much of a challenge, but they are made for the casual game which most people are.
