Rare's sixth game on Nintendo 64 has you playing as a young man, his twin sister, and a robotic dog in an effort to stop an evil tyrant named Mizar and his insectoid army. Not all characters are playable at once, however. The three members of the Gemini Squadron have been separated from one another, so it's up to you as Juno, the male hero, to find Vela and Lupus somewhere on the planet. The protagonists feature separate routes throughout the game as well as unique abilities. You'll eventually explore all routes with each character to attain special powers, reach new areas, and fight more powerful enemies. The action is played from a third-person viewpoint as you fight swarms of insects using your standard-issue Jet Force pistol. As you make your way through the game's 15 worlds, you'll acquire more powerful weapons like a rapid-fire machine gun, sniper rifle, plasma shotgun, heat-seeking shuriken, and devastating cluster bomb. The battles with the alien insects, referred to as drones, are a key part of Jet Force Gemini, since you cannot progress unless all hostile threats within the area are eliminated. Once you've defeated the remaining drones, a sealed door will open up and you'll be able to explore more of the level. In addition to the shooting action, players will have to solve various puzzles, leap across platforms, and converse with characters such as Floyd, a flying robot. Once activated, Floyd can be controlled by a friend in the two-player Cooperative Adventure mode. The 256-Megabit cartridge also features three multiplayer modes: Battle Mode, Racing, and Target Practice. Battle Mode has up to four players hunting each other on a split screen, while Racing features hovercraft competitions across multiple laps and timed scenarios. The third multiplayer mode, Target Practice, is played from a first-person viewpoint as you quickly shoot down drones emerging from the scenery. |

Hidden Gem
This game is a great shooter. Sure it can be awkward with camera angles at times and the manual aim gives the game a real run for playability, but these challenges comes with almost every 64 game. Take a shot at some alien ants and large bug like creatures to try and save your friends! In the mean time enjoy ripping through aliens with different plasma guns and watching them explode! Is that too much for your virgin eyes? Try using the machine gun with your eyes closed and enjoy the beautiful sounds of plasma bullets boiling and exploding alien flesh. Don’t feel bad, they attacked your ship and kidnapped your friends. Their time of reckoning is here. Stick to your guns, explore the foreign worlds, save the natives and always listen to the old yoda like character for hints on moving forward!

One of the best games for N64
Really, when I first play this with my older brother we couldn't finish it because how time spending it was. The game has a good story, the levels are challenging and well design and IT WAS THE FIRST COOP GAME WE EVER PLAYED!!!. I recently bought this game again and we're still playing it and none of the fun and excitement of the first time has gone. If you are tired of re-play Mario or Zelda, you should play Jet Force Gemini . . . and if you want to suffer a little bit,play Banjo Kazooie as well.

Awesome game! Very well made. Hours of fun and alot of adventures.
I have always loved this game! Lots to do and explore. The game has 3 characters. I lent my game out a few months ago and bought this one because I couldn't wait to have it back.

Good Game!!
My other copy of the Jet Force Gemini Nintendo 64 game cartridge almost broke down, but I managed to swap the circuit boards and/or steel shells from the old copy to the newer copy while still retaining most of the game data I had obtained from several years ago.

Game works great
I was worried when I saw the game upon arrival. It has oxidized on the metal and the label is rubbed off and there is a piece of something loose rattling around inside. I plugged it in and, to my pleasant surprise, plays just fine, no issues!
