Interesting artifact of Biblical translation history
For the scholar of Biblical translations, this is, of course, absolutely essential. Being a facsimile of the first edition from 1611 -- almost 400 years ago -- this is the most pure King James version you will find. Nothing has been altered or "updated" to reflect modern thinking. No word is revised. You can read the KJV as it first appeared. After all, it is this translation that made the most impact on English-speaking peoples. It presented the Bible in a consistent voice, and while we might find the language archaic nowadays, at the time, it was contemporary -- to a degree. The translators did strive for what they considered reverent language that was somewhat dated. We have to remember this was the time of Shakespeare, Marlowe and other great dramatists and poets; English was ... For the scholar of Biblical translations, this is, of course, absolutely essential. The main impediment to reading this edition is that the typeface and spelling are of 1611. "I" was used for "J" -- "u" was used for "v" (and vice-versa) -- and there was a character that looked like an "f" (minus a serif) that was "s" except at the end of a word, when the regular "s" was used. Many, many words have different spellings as well, though you can usually figure out what they are. Once you get used to these differences, you can enjoy reading the text. This edition also contains The Apocrypha, which is itself another interesting artifact. Generally speaking, despite the fact this is a facsimile, it is quite readable. It is also one of the most affordable facsimiles of the KJV you will find and is handsomely presented in a leather binding with ribbon bookmark.

Excellent book for life!
This is the original King James from which many other versions are generated. Easy to read, good paper & print, and the Apocraphya contains both the Catholic as well as the Protestant versions with assorted other supporting tests. It's a great rendition for those who want to know/study in English what the text said in the first place!

Wonderful!!!
It is wonderful to see the word of the Lord written with so much passion and heart. The words are small but bold making it easy to read. I love everything about the 1611 KJV Holy Bible. Hope whoever buys this version is as happy to have it as I am.

Best version of the English translation of the Bible I have encountered
This 1611 facsimile KJV Bible is the best version of the English translation of the Bible I have encountered. Very affordable. I hope it stays affordable, as we need to spread The Word, so the more affordable the Holy Book is, the better. :) I hope that the Sovereign, Live God speaks to you through his spirit when you read his inspired Holy Word preserved in the King James Version 1611 Bible. This Bible features beautifully illustrated and well-preserved (facsimile) texts (inclusive of the original fluid spellings of the words) from the original 1611 edition, reproduced in an easy to read font. I find that the fluidity of the spellings of some of the words (which were difficult to get used to at first), do not hinder, but instead, aid in God's spirit coming through the word, at least ... This 1611 facsimile KJV Bible is the best version of the English translation of the Bible I have encountered. Very affordable. I hope it stays affordable, as we need to spread The Word, so the more affordable the Holy Book is, the better. :) I hope that the Sovereign, Live God speaks to you through his spirit when you read his inspired Holy Word preserved in the King James Version 1611 Bible. In addition, I appreciate the notes and references provided in the double-sided margins of the pages that many (if not all) of the newer reproductions of the KJV (aside from the 1611 facsimile version), tend to lack. One of the only draw-backs is the difficulty of finding the books, as there are no page numbers within the book, which is why I recommend getting tabs as well. Still, the best version I have come across, as stated above. In the photos I have attached, I have added tabs to my Bible, and colored some of the elaborately illustrated letters within the text. These are not included in a newly purchased 1611 KJV Bible. (Re: I would recommend adding tabs to this particular Bible). I apologize for the terrible quality of the images, as I simply used my computer’s camera to photograph. The photos are of: 1.) the back cover description of the 1611 KJV Bible 2.) the inside flap 3.) the table of contents // the first page of the book of Genesis 4.) The first two pages of the book of Daniel. Please read through anything you are able to read particularly on the back cover and inside flap photos (1 and 2), as there is interesting information regarding the book. In addition, note the double-margins and the notes within them in photos 3 and 4 that are a rare find in other Bibles.

I thought I would have to get used to the words and language. That was not the case. Once I figured out what letters was used and what had not been "invented" yet, it was really easy. I normally use the KJV so understanding was not a problem. U's are v's and vice versa. J not invented and f's were used as s's. E's were used at the end of words quite often. It is interesting reading in place of the later KJV. I'm especially thrilled with the apocrypha included. I have an NIV with apocrypha. Language is different. 1611 is way better.
