|You thought Michael Myers was decapitated at the end of HALLOWEEN: H20? Think again. The latest installment in the popular horror franchise, HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION, uses a clever premise to give the legendary murderer yet another opportunity to wreak havoc on a cast of innocent characters. Back in Haddonfield, Illinois, Freddie Harris (Busta Rhymes), upstart entrepreneur of Dangertainment.com, recruits six lucky college students to partake in a potentially dangerous game. Wearing miniature video cameras, the participants must spend Halloween night inside the decrepit home of Michael Myers, to the delight of Internet viewers all over the country. While most of the kids are in it for fun, fame, and fortune, Sara Moyer (Bianca Kajlich) is a glaring exception. Innocent, shy, and nervous, Sara grudgingly joins her friends Jen (Katee Sackhoff) and Rudy (Sean Patrick Thomas), against her better judgment. As darkness sets in and the bodies begin to pile, it's up to Sara--aided by an Internet pen pal--to put an end to Michael once and for all (or so she thinks!). Director Rick Rosenthal (HALLOWEEN 2) and screenwriters Larry Brand and Sean Hood incorporate technology into the story, using a grainy visual approach to add another layer of creepiness to the proceedings.|

I bought this for my son who really likes it, but personally I would give it an average score. In the beginning of the movie, there are two concurrent stories that fold into one very fast. Jamie Lee Curtis is in a mental institution. (In the last movie, she killed the wrong guy and that made her go nuts.) You see her peering out from an upstairs window and there's Michael Meyers standing outside looking up at her. He has come to finish her off, and, of course, kills a few guards first before reaching his intended prey. Eventually, there is a standoff between them which leads to his hanging off the roof and hopefully to his eventual demise. However, because they want to keep dragging this series out, you know that's not going to be the case. In the meantime, the parallel story is about a reality show that is going to be filmed in Michael's old house featuring several college-aged kids. Even though Michael did not die in the previous movie, no one including the contestants or the director/producer of the show seem to be bothered by that fact. Apparently, though, Michael's been living under the house in a secret area connected to the basement. All the contestants wear cameras on their heads, and you will see Michael killing them off one by one. One of them, though, is a survivor and has a friend at a nearby party watching the show with other party guests. He sees the danger and text messages her about where Michael is lurking in the house and helps her allude him as much as possible. The interactions between the reality show producer/director and Michael are the funniest in the movie. The former and the girl end up helping each other to outwit Michael. Even though he is electrocuted and set on fire, Michael still survives in the end, only no one knows it except the coroner. What's good about this movie are the funny parts (there are a few of them) and the survival scenes with the girl and the producer/director versus Michael. If I had been the the movie director, I would have changed the two stories completely around, starting with Jamie Lee Curtis in the mental institution standing at the window and seeing Michael Meyers. However, instead of having him go after her right away, I would have returned him to his house; keeping everything there the same. Then I would have shown him returning to the mental institution and showing the fight between him and Jamie Lee Curtis except that she would have gotten the upper hand and killed him. And this time he would have stayed dead. A fitting end to a series that has gone on long enough. If you want to be lightly entertained, watch it, but know that Michael Meyers is going to get away with murder again because he must have supernatural powers. No human being could have had so much done to him and not be dead.
Halloween Resurrection: My Review
This was probably my least favorite of the whole Halloween collection. I only purchased it because it was the last one I needed to have my Halloween DVD collection complete. I think there was a lot of bad acting in it, not to mention some really fake murder scenes like the blonde chick getting decapitated. Let's be honest folks...Halloween has never been the same since part 6 because that was the last Halloween that Donald Pleasance was in before he passed away. Halloween just isn't Halloween without the eerie feel that you get watching it with that crazy Dr. Loomis running around trying to warn everyone about the Michael Myers madness. Dr. Loomis really set the tone for the Halloween movies, not to mention the 2 men that played Michael Myers in parts 4 & 5 were great as well. But personally, if you're just looking for a horror movie to buy, skip this one. Go out and get parts 1-6 I recommend any of them. I love Jamie Lee Curtis as an actress, but H20 was boring and stale and I was a little irritated when they killed her off in the beginning of Resurrection. But I'm assuming that's what she gets for H20 being so boring.
Great deal & perfect quality
I did not want to spend a lot on this movie because I ripped it onto my digital media server. There's always a concern buying a movie that's used, that it might not be in proper working order, but this was perfect, a flawless transaction, and a great value!

halloween the original
I had been looking in stores for this dvd, thinking they'd eventually bribg it back out just for fun, but nope, never in a million years. it was really nice to get a brand new dvd of such an old movie. Of course it is great fun for horror movie fans and collectors. the only thing I didn't like was my fault. I didn't read that the box was printed in Korean. lol. That was ok because the movie itself was in English. My Michael Myers collection is all but complete now so we are really happy.
