The first game inspired by The Matrix series of films features an original storyline with characters and choreography from the second movie, The Matrix: Reloaded. Players assume the role of either Niobe, a ship captain played by Jada Pinkett Smith in the film, or Ghost, a weapons expert and love interest of Trinity. Neo also makes an appearance, but only as a character who fights alongside players from time to time. The game takes place from a third-person perspective as players delve deeper into the Matrix while fending off a number of threats looking to stop them. The first film's groundbreaking use of slow-motion camera effects has been incorporated into the game as focus, where characters can manipulate the flow of time with a pressing of a button. While this effect has been seen in games like Max Payne and Dead to Rights, Enter the Matrix takes it one step further with the ability to climb and run across walls, perform back flips, leap across buildings, and perform various other aerial stunts. In total, over 4,000 moves were motion-captured specifically for the game with the full cooperation of the Wachowski brothers, who also wrote the game's story. The element of focus, represented by a vertical meter along with health, can also be used in context-specific situations to automatically perform certain maneuvers, such as kicking two foes positioned on either side of the character with both feet. In addition to focus abilities, players can use the analog controls to guide how fast or slow the character moves throughout the real world. Characters are not helpless without focus, however. Players can hide behind objects for cover, lean against walls to peer around corners, climb ladders, hang from ledges, shimmy across pipes, and more. The 3D environments are designed to be entirely interactive, allowing characters to travel across them however they desire. There are also vehicle stages where the two lead characters race across the real world or fly through the Matrix itself, avoiding the omnipresent Sentinels trying to latch onto their vessel and end the game. Rounding out the list of features are 24 different weapons, the ability to hack into the Matrix to learn more melee attacks or to enter cheat codes, a two-player sparring option from within a dojo, and voice-overs recorded by the cast of the series. |

Enter the Matrix review
In the game Enter the Matrix (American Version), you are basically going thru the second movie (The Matrix: Reloaded) thru the eyes of either Captain Niobe of the Logos or First Mate Ghost of the Logos. Experience over 14 different chapters with a total of over 60 levels as either of the two characters (Note: The 2 additional CHEAT chapters unlockable thru the Hacking mode; contains 8 additional CHEAT levels!) Fight beside some of the movies main characters such as Trinity, Morpheous and more in the attempt of helping The One reach his destiny of ending the war against Zion. Includes over 13 real life weapons and hand-to-hand combat action against enemies such as Security Guards, Police officers, S.W.A.T force, Military combatants and worst of all Agents. Includes exclusive film footage by the creators of the Matrix trilogy, awesome Matrix enhanced abilities such as bullet dodging, running up walls and slow-motion combat. Enter the Matrix is copy righted by Warner Brothers entertainment, Shiny Entertainment, and Atari. It was written and directed by the Wachowski brothers (The actual creators of the Matrix trilogy.) I personaly enjoyed this game and beat it myself with no trouble at all on Hard mode as Ghost (I confess to using cheats.) IN THE WAR TO SAVE ZION, WHAT PART WILL YOU PLAY?
Matrix PS2
Great game taking one into the depths of the matrix where is found the absolute meaningless of playing too many video games. The mind is absorbed in extreme frame rate action causing children to be unable to read much more than three letter words afterwards. Having been rendered IQless and unable to listen to instruction from parents, children then wandered in the streets and the wilderness and eventually become government officials or privileged Wall Street investment bankers and then lost it all investing with Madoff. Obama rose to the occasion and come up with the ultimate solution, a video game offering all youngsters the opportunity to play government leader who saves the day by completely collapsing the financial system and making everyone completely dependent upon government. Then, the administrative authorities had the power to tell everyone what to think, do and where to live and thus caused writing like the aforementioned drivel to be banned. And so it was.....
It is what it is
So much about it is bad yet I find myself buying it and playing it. It was rushed to market and destroyed by glitches but still entertaining. It captures the feel of running through The Matrix as a human and trying to survive. The music is good, if not great (captures the orchestra feel of the first movie); the graphics are decent but not good; and finally the controls are terrible but work. All in all a very fun game with great real footage shot on real film during the making of the 2nd two movies. If you really love the first matrix movie and thought the second two were bad but worth owning then this game is for you. Worth playing, entertaining, but not even close to the potential it possessed. Such are rushed movie franchise games. Buy if you love the movies and you have a lot of patience. You won't regret it.
