| A true icon of classic computer gaming, the Prince of Persia returns in The Forgotten Sands, an original 3D adventure of platform puzzles and free-flowing combat, set in the period between The Sands of Time and The Warrior Within. Although sharing similar themes and set in the same general time in the overarching storyline, the Wii version of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands was developed separately from the edition created for home computers and high-def consoles. Motion-controlled abilities aid the hero both in exploration and in combat. Flicking the Wii Remote causes the hero to swing his scimitar. He can use a "Sand Ring" power to place handholds on walls that allow him to grip and climb. He can also summon a rising pillar of sand, to launch him to high ledges. A magic "Sand Sphere" shell can be called forth, to allow the Prince to hang in midair, and temporarily protect him from attacks. The Wii edition of Forgotten Sands supports a cooperative feature, in which a second player can assist the Prince by aiming a second Wii Remote to temporarily bind onscreen enemies and slow down fast-moving traps. The Wii game also includes an emulation of the complete Super NES version of Prince of Persia, originally released in 1992. Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is released alongside the summer 2010 theatrical debut of Disney's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, the feature film directed by Mike Newell and co-written by the game series' creator, Jordan Mechner. | |

This title is platforming at it's finest. The varied obstacles and traps make for very exciting travel throughout the game. The Wii controls are very easy to get used to and make for very quick sequences of jumps, wall runs and climbs, as well as the Prince's new Creation Powers. The combat was a little lacking, amounting to not much more than swinging the Wiimote, but the use of the powers in battle helped keep things interesting. Level and puzzle design were fantastic. The game is just beautiful to look at. My only real gripe is that at times the Camera Assistance was actually more of a hindrance, and I had to turn it off to complete a few difficult jumps.
prince of persia: the forgotten sands wii game
This is a great game and love it. I have gotten so far in just a week but fear that I have gotten to a point of not finishing due to not enough life orb things. I have made it to "The Beast" and chasing him down now but difficult. If anyone needs help there is a person that shows the game on youtube and has really helped me get further. Besides all of that.. This game is awesome and rocks! I would recommend grabbing if you could for a good price. great graphics I think and a good way to pass some time. Hope all this helps you :)
A reason to dust off your Wii and play it again
Forgotten Sands is one of the definitive games for the console and a must-have for all who own one whether they be seasoned gamers or just curious for a more challenging adventure. There's an ease of playability which increases in difficulty; you never feel let down as you complete each chapter by unlocking new powers and discovering pathways leading to hidden areas. With fluid controls, decent combat, amazing set pieces, and a separate storyline from the movie or other games, Forgotten Sands is a standalone masterpiece.
Fun, lots of jumping around and getting by obstacles
Most of this game is about jumping around, looking for ways to get by obstacles. There is a little bit of fighting, and you do have to learn some skills to win the fights, but mostly its laid back and puzzle-oriented. The camera angles and scenery are nice, and on the Wii it didn't seem to have any framerate issues. Scenes panned easily around and even with many moving objects everything was smooth. All in all a good, fun game. Not the best. But certainly not the worst and its worth playing.

The product was perfect in condition and quality. The game was great probably when it was released but is old school now. It hasn't stopped me from playing it though.
