One of Nintendo's biggest hits on the Super NES comes to the color handheld in an enhanced port with new mini-games and bonus features. Donkey Kong Country made a name for itself with its advanced use of pre-rendered graphics and classic side-scrolling action spanning more than 100 levels. The same visual style and all of the levels have been carried over to the Game Boy Advance, including the mine cart rides, underwater sequences, and boss encounters. New to the handheld is the ability to play a fishing game, where Diddy Kong hitches a ride with swordfish En Guarde to spear groups of colored fish, and participate in a rhythmic dancing game. Players can also access a Time Attack mode and save their fastest completion times for each level to battery-backed memory. Other features include the ability to save the game at any point and view new cinematic scenes inserted in between levels. A friend can also join the action in a variety of multiplayer modes. |

the SNES classic
Donkey Kong Country for the GBA is an almost direct port to the GBA from the golden days of Nintendo. They did make a few changes. Some for the good some for the worse. The good: graphics remain mainly unchanged, gameplay and story the same, item locations the same, some new items to locate, a trip in time for younger gamers. The bad: The music and lighting. To explain this anyone who has played the old SNES version will notice this right away, the armadillo noise isn't the same. To some this may not bother them. It bothers me. Also in the raining stages, its now like raining in the sunlight, not dark like the older version. Also the music has a much happier tone to it. It sounds someone over did it with the treble. When DK loses his bananas in the beginning it should not sound like a good thing. This is a great mobile version of the classic but if you want to truly experience the greatness of this game, I really suggest playing the original SNES version.

Great classic redone
The controls are slightly different from when you played it on the SNES, which is sometimes a given for when big screen games get ported to portable gaming systems. I haven't played it on the Gameboy Advance; I've only played this on my DS and the controls took a while to get used to. Otherwise... There's nothing much else that can be said about one of the best sidescroller games EVER, that hasn't already been said a few million times. Donkey and Diddy bust barrels and collect bananas, and all the same secrets and bonuses are there to find. It's a great port that entertains me for hours on the subway.

Good fun game
This game is just how I remembered from my nintendo as a kid. I loved this game growing up and have been addicted to playing my gameboy again! I wish the graphics were better on the GBA but still a good game.

Awesome Game Play
