| Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex Greatest Hits features the popular Sony PlayStation character and his sister in an adventure video game. In the platform of the game, you can control Crash Bandicoot and his sister, Coco, who make their PlayStation 2 debut as they race against time. Crash Bandicoot and Coco want to foil the plans of Crash's arch nemesis, Dr. Neo Cortex. Dr. Cortex plans to enslave the world, but the brother and sister are ready for his wrath. This Sony PlayStation 2 video game has a release date of 2002 and an ESRB rating of E for Everyone. The publisher is Universal Interactive.Crash Bandicoot and his sister start with four lives each. Each of them can lose a life if they suffer any type of damage or are struck by an enemy attack. Additional lives can be earned by collecting "wumpa fruits." Free life tokens may be earned by opening a special crate. To shield themselves from attacks, either Bandicoot sibling can use the Aku Aku mask. In total, there are three Aku Aku masks. If all three masks are collected, the player is granted temporary invulnerability from minor injuries. Once Crash Bandicoot or his sister runs out of lives, the game is over. The game can be continued by selecting continue from the Game Over screen.Players can use both characters to explore the world of "The Wrath of Cortex," which includes 30 levels. During exploration, the avatars engage with enemies in battle. Side-scrolling and front-scrolling movements are allowed for both single players and multiple players. While exploring, the Bandicoots must collect 25 crystals, which are necessary to beat Dr. Cortex in the final battle. In most situations, the crystal is located at the end of the level. Some crystals require a character to complete a specific challenge before earning their prize. Gems and special-colored gems can be found in certain areas. Gems are awarded if all the crates in a level are broken or if a special bonus area is completed. Gamers can also win a relic. A relic can be obtained if a player revisits an area where a gem was collected. To get a relic, the player initiates the time trial method. A predetermined time has been assigned to each crystal area. To get the relic, Crash or his sister must beat the assigned time. Relics can be used to access the Secret Warp Room. However, it's necessary to exchange relics in groups of five to gain special access.It is also possible to find a range of controllable vehicles while playing. The vehicles aid in the pursuit of Cortex and the mission to stop him. Vehicles included in the gameplay are a crop duster and giant robot suit. Cortex plans to use the natural elements of earth, air, fire, and water to annihilate Crash Bandicoot. He feels he has to get rid of Crash before he can take over the world. The final level matches Crash or his sister against Dr. Neo Cortex. The winner of the battle will determine whether Cortex takes over the world or Crash Bandicoot saves the world. There are many bonus areas in "The Wrath of Cortex." In these areas, a player must make their way through mazes and collect everything they see. Once an area has been completed, it cannot be accessed again unless the level is replayed. Choose your favorite member of the Bandicoot family and try to beat Crash's arch nemesis on your PS2. Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath ofCcortex is actually a pretty decent game. Sure, it does have some pretty long load times but the gameplay is just as fun as the PS1 prequel's. This is a true sequel to Crash Bandicoot: Warped and very enjoyable if you like these types of games. The graphics aren't bleeding-edge but what do you expect from an early PS2 title? If you like platformer's and Crash Bandicoot games in general, give this one a shot if you haven't yet.

Clone of crash bandicoot? NO WAY!,
Crash bandicoot the wrath of cortex is in no way a copy of warped as the previous 3 crash games it improves each time from the original with nice graphics for its time kinda repetative levels still fun REALLY hard though crash 2 major improvement the warp room is convenient graphics improved a bit too levels got a little easier and less repetetive more bosses old and new good deal of improvment from the first crash 3 awesome this game has the most graphic improvement from the last 2 levels and story line are deeper and even less repetative levels overall the best of the 3 playstation releases not including ctr and bash they are a different style of games But this games THIS game same format as the first 3 yes But this game PERFECTS!!! the bandicoot seires Graphics SUBSTANTIALY Improved! BEFORE ITS TIME this games graphics are so realistic the lighting the shades and minimum fuzziness like the resolution and or clarity of the game is amazing! but besides that the colors are so realistic ok ok moving back into the rest of it the levels are MINIMAL repeats and for those of you who say its a clone of warped WRONG! there are new levels and enviroments such as ice level types brought back from crash 2 rolling ball level NEW! undersea levels brought back BUT improved and changed water looks so real!! and this game is 2001 original release dont listen to amazon i won this game 2001 black labe release anyway the water level has a sub instead of special scuba suit new traps in these water levels two new island volcano level awesome those are just a few allthough its the same base boss every time he transforms each time not going to spoil it anyway this game is ahead of its time i say the graphics compare to a ps3 games allthough all of you would dissagree you HAVE to get this game wheather your a new crash player or a comeback this game is a must have you will love it. In any case heres an overveiw of all the improvments it had since the first and original crashbandicoot! 1 Graphics that show what the ps2 is capable of! very clear resolution and not at all blocky 2 All new levels including the rolling hampster ball levels the stink fly level and cocos rocket level!!!! 3 For the first time in this original platformer style style of crash bandicoot games (because you can play as coco in crash bash for ps1 but thats more a ) Play as coco in a variety of levels!!!!! 4 The same charachters are all brought back including NGin tiny tiger of course cortex crash aku aku and uka uka! all new elemental mask charachters and the evil super bandicoot crunch ! 5 a stinkfly a jeep and a robot suit that blasts whompa fruit and cool off spray! the whompa bazooka is back from crash 3 too! 6 boss levels are the most exiting i have ever seen 7 underwater levels were greatly improved I hated crash 3 water levels but with the awesome graphics and a sub who can complain!! Overall crash 4 Aka wrath of cortex is in no way a clone of crash 3 even though it was made by another company then naughty dog it is creative and has amazing gamplay quality that crash games are known for (unlike every crash game after that ditch the crash style platform game like twinsanity or mind over mutant those fools dont even know how to draw crash!!!)

Bought it for my wife's birthday and she loves playing it. It's hard to get her off the game so I can play my game. So thank you it made her day

Nice game but very bad DVD Disc quality!
I bought the newest game but i didn't like it so i searched on ebay to find an old style crash game. I found that game (Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex) and it was amazing! I remembered the PSX crash games that i liked very much them. I is just a very very nice game to pass your time good. I recommend this game to all that like this kind of games! But the problem is that the DVD Disc has got many scrathes and it lags very much when loading and when i turn the PS2, i have to restart many times to load he game and not get stack! Maybe i have this problem because my ps2 is PAL but this Disc is NTSC. In general this is a nice game to pass your time good but the Disc quality was bad. Sorry for my bad english. :)

I was right in the middle of gameplay when I heard my phone notification beep I absolutely love this game it was a great Buy and I'm 54 and I have fun playing these games on PlayStation 2 believe it or not
