Konami's vampire-hunting series begins anew with Lords of Shadow. As a descendant of the famed Belmont family, you must vanquish an assortment of dark creatures to save the world from an insidious curse. Gabriel Belmont must explore more than 50 stages, each viewed from a third-person perspective, using over 40 possible combo attacks to defeat his enemies. To progress, you'll need to swing across chasms, climb walls, rappel down cliffs, and overcome various dangers lurking within the gothic ruins, castles, forests, swamps, and tundra making up the game's Southern Europe setting. Gabriel will rely on daggers, holy water, and a multi-functional "combat cross" to repel his supernatural foes. A retractable chain whip is housed within the cross, allowing Gabriel to swing from ledges and to attack enemies from afar. Throughout your travels, you'll solve puzzles to unlock new items, battle large-scale bosses, and harness the power of magic. Created by Spanish developer Mercury Steam under the supervision of Kojima Productions, Lords of Shadow features Hollywood-style cinematics and professional voice acting from Robert Carlyle, Patrick Stewart, Natasha McElhone, and Jason Issacs. The "Limited Edition" version of Lords of Shadow features special packaging that contains a book of the game's artwork and the original soundtrack. |

Newest Castlevania game is a hit
Hideo Kojima is a genius (of Metal Gear and Zone of the Enders fame). I'm quite pleased that he was able to branch out and make a Castlevania game. It has puzzles as well as replay value. You have to beat the game at least twice in order to experience all of the game. You can also revisit levels you've already beaten in order to find upgrades that you misses. Add the ability to change the difficulty on the fly and you have a game that fits almost every one.

I cant put this game down!!! Fun factor equals SOTN!
Game is a very vast world of mystery, wonders, monsters, legend and lore that features the most beautiful landscape and environment Ive ever seen in ANY game, PERIOD (better than God of War 3)! The leveling system is great, it gives you a feel of customization with the different moves that can before available. Very thick plot and story - by far the best yet of ANY Castlevania. This game is very challenging with puzzles and complex bosses. Pay the extra $20 or $30 for this Edition of the game. The cool case that holds everything like a book. It has masterful artwork, an amazing music CD, and a special case. This game has the same fun factor as Castlevania Symphony of the Night. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

Castlevania's return!
I've bought this game a few weeks ago and... what a great game! The quality of textures and gameplay is awesome! The controls is easy to learn and to do combos. But, this game is linear: you can't go back or explore the graphically richier levels, unfortunately, because of this I give 9 of 10.

Awesome installment to Castlevania series
This game is stunningly beautiful and is easy to jump into. The set is nice with a very cool case, good sized art book and a soundtrack. This is a nice collectible set for fans of the series

excellent grpahics,excellent play style(god of war like)this one tops all castlevania's in the past.best castlevania since symphony of the night.no more side scrolling run,jump and shoot.this is a fantastic game in every way.the game has items to find and upgrades to your weapon.i liked this game alot.it was a bit hard to do a few things here and there,but very much ebjoyable for me.this was a nice escape from the repeat call of duty 1st person and assassins creed that they game out with every november.
