Buck Branamans story has something for all of us. It's about looking in the mirror and taking responsibility for what we see. By looking at the person we see, we begin to work on the person we want to be. Buck is a living example of one who broke the ties of abuse and decided he was not going to be that way. Whatever he touched,whether horse or human would never ever have to be afraid. When we work with horses the real us comes out. It could be good bad or ugly. It's up to us to do something about that. The horse becomes our mirror and what we learn, what we see, and how we fix it translates far beyond the arena.I took my daughters and grandchildren to see this very moving film.
A fascinating film about a remarkable man.
When you see Buck Brannaman training a horse, you're watching a master at work. We don't get that chance much anymore... His kind are a vanishing breed - a true gentleman. If you're considering buying a horse for yourself or a child, or if you just love horses, watch this DVD. You'll begin to understand the complexity and intelligence of horses, and their loyalty towards us if only treated properly. Check Buck's website, and see if he's holding a clinic in your area. (He also has a set of DVDs covering his techniques.) All in all, one of the most interesting films I've ever seen.

"Tall drink of water" and love to listen to his voice.
I heard about Buck the person years ago, so I was glad they made a documentary on him...I was blown away! I never knew the stuff he went through as a child, I was so moved by his story & also how he thinks when working with horses (& people). I can't stop thinking about it, especially the wild stallion that was crazy and how he handled the owner with respect & yet told her it was her life she needed to get together & it's showing in her horses....not in thoses words but close...wow! He's a tall cowboy (more like a tall drink of water!) with a huge heart. A man of few words, but when he does, it's profound! Being a retired librarian I know the book is always better then the movie, so I'm reading his book, "The Faraway Horses" and I have to say, both are needed, to see the man, hear the man's words & walk in his boots - it's been a long time since I've read a book that stayed with me. You won't be disappointed.
BUCK is a Must See--Don't Miss it!
Typically, DVD's are pretty standard in terms of their reliability. My seller was fantastic--I received the DVD in record time and in excellent condition. I gave this film as a Christmas gift to my brother and sister-in-law, primarily because they love animals. But BUCK's message of respect for human life is one for the masses. I was dragged to the theatre kicking and screaming to see this documentary initially. I left a devotee of it and Buck, the focus of the film. He is the original horse-whisperer, imparting his common sense wisdom in a quiet, self-effacing and thoroughly entertaining way. He is a modern Will Rogers with a just a bit more gravitas. The documentary is a life changer.

emotionally gripping but, in a good way. depicts how our strings are attached with how we are raised and what we were brought up to believe in. Morals, characteristics and personalities. Also, shares how we do not have to continue in those old patterns and can have a happy, successful and loving life.
