The saga of Desmond Miles may be over, but players can continue to explore the genetic memories of his ancestor Edward Kenway and go on a swashbuckling open-world pirate adventure in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Beginning in 1715, Black Flag puts gamers in the middle of the Caribbean Sea during the Golden Age of Piracy to let them explore Kingston, Havana, Nassau, and dozens of islands. A great deal of gameplay also takes place at sea, with players captaining their ship Jackdaw into battles with the Spanish and British navies, pirates, and of course Templars. The terrestrial portions of Black Flag offer familiar gameplay, with players encountering forts, villages, and jungles in the countryside, and clambering onto and over buildings in the larger cities as they take on side missions, collect information, and perform assassinations. The hunting gameplay first featured in Assassin's Creed III returns, with Edward having the added ability to harpoon sea creatures, and gamers can also choose to swim out to sea and capture passing ships. The ship-based gameplay is also a carryover from Assassin's Creed III, though players now have access to a spyglass for examining enemy ships and islands from afar, and they can head underwater to search for sunken treasure. Like other entries in the franchise, the historical gameplay is broken up somewhat by segments set in the near future. In Black Flag, these portions involve exploration, eavesdropping, and hacking at Abstergo Entertainment, a Montreal-based subsidiary of the antagonistic Abstergo Industries. The 18th-century action is considerably more violent, with players recruiting new crewmembers, often by engaging in swordplay and gun battles, and Edward crossing paths with notorious pirates from the era, including Edward "Blackbeard" Teach, Benjamin Hornigold, Anne Bonny, Calico Jack, and Charles Vane. Multiplayer fans can also join friends for a number of different land-based online modes, including Artifact, Domination, Manhunt, and Wanted. |

Awesome, enjoyable game with minor gameplay frustrations!
The Assassin's Creed franchise has always been amazingly good and follows script! What a great idea to be a pirate! Destroying ships, ruling the Caribbean with good, loyal crew! Every young swashbucklers dream! I really only have beef with one annoying things about the game. I don't think the swimming aspect of the game is truly there yet. The camera occasionally has a hard time getting close to the swimmer when you're in a sunken ship and its definitely hard to swim around corners or make tight turns. Definitely a step in the right direction with exciting and unique game play! Overall though this game is enjoyable to the very end!

A Pretty fun game.
I've now got six of the Assassin's Creed games. This one is the most different by far. Swashbuckling rogue, taking the mantle of an assassin by force and then trying to rescind that choice when he realizes it has consequences. Fight your way through the tropical seas and join the ranks of Blackbeard as you struggle to find your new place as a pirate captain turned regretful assassin.

Good game.
Good game. Especially if you like pirates. I am not so good at it yet. But for those who like action and are good at it, it is an excellent game. Not recomended for young children due to its violent cootent. But is very good for adults who can handle a bit of violence, blood, and gore. Graphics are ok for a video game. I do not give the graphics a high rating only because I am picky about graphics. I usally go for games more like Lord of the Rings. This is my very first Assassin's Creed game and my very first one dealing with pirates. The story line is intriguing to me. Very well done story line. And the time period conflicts and styles are a nice touch as far as authenticity goes. The movments of tge characters are fairly well done as well. There are no skipping or missing sound bites as the characters interact. The graphics were fuzzy at times, but I think perhaps that was due to my tv or the fact I might need my glasses on. The game controlls were not too difficult to learn to use. But I do prefer my controlls a bit eaiser to master then the game allows. Very simple is best in my opinion, as far as controlls go. Not to worry though. The controlls can be learned with practice. And the game gives you lots of time, chances, and do over oportunities to learn to use the controlls. No need to hurry or rush to beat opponants if you are not yet confident in your abilities to use the controlls. The packaging my game came in was grat quality. It had all necessary codes to get it set up. This was my first xbox one game as well. I can tell xbox one does have better quality graphics than xbox 360. I am glad I opted to try this game out on xbox one. The colors on the game were very bright and crisp. I like that. Character outlines were still a bit dark. But that is ok. That is a norral effect on most video games. The action is very good in this game. Moments are rarely dull for long. If you do get a breather in the action, use the time to upgrade yourself and conduct health checks when you can. Never hurts to be prepared. You never quite know who you may meet with in this game. The music in the game is good. And background noises, such as sea gulls and waves, very nicely blended into the game. The cinimatic moments in the game are nicely done as well.

AC 4 Black Flag
So glad I found this for under $20 new. It may be a 2013 game but it is so good. I haven’t played in a little while because I’m trying to save the gameplay so I don’t beat it too quick. I recommend it for anyone who’s looking for a new or different game to play absolutely. Gameplay is good, story is good, and graphics are great. So glad I got this game.

Great Open World Game
The open world exploration is outstanding. There is so much to do besides the main missions. You can really take your time and see every nook and cranny of the game map.
