Close Shave
Product was in sealed package, seemed genuine. Had previously purchased a knock-off brand that shaved like a lawn mower. That cartridge and this Norelco, look very similar in construction. But the new one shaves pretty close, which is good. Not sure it shaves as good as my original RQ10, which can't be found anymore. The new head is larger and does not fit into the original charging pod. I don't like the design for cleaning. The floating heads are in a single holder that has to be unsnapped from the base. The old RQ10 has a hinge on each head that is quickly flipped open for easy cleaning. Don't like the new design. I would recommend the RQ12 for a close shave, but feel it is over-priced.

OEM is the best
I was reluctant to purchase a new set of blades for my Norelco soft touch for two reasons. One, the cost and two, the different design. But after three years using the same blades my face could not take it no longer. So doing the research, I found most folks were not happy with the off-brand offers. Even though they may be 1/2 the cost, I wanted to stick with OEM parts (original equipment manufacturer). So AMAZON offered the OEM product and it was new, not refurbished. My next concern was the the new design. I was not afraid for the better design for shaving, but how to clean them. On my original head, all three snapped up for easy cleaning. This new design you pop off the cover. So, I am not so pleased with that, it works. The blades themselves are the real deal. I noticed that my shave was much more quicker and softer. I recommend the OEM Norelco brand.

New Life for my Old Shaver
This head was a direct replacement for the one on my several years' old Philips SensoTouch 3D shaver. I had read several reviews that were critical of the new head's design, but I actually prefer the new design. My old shaver head allowed each cutter to open independently from the head's body. This made for easy cleaning, but it also allowed the cutters to open at unexpected times. I lost a cutter blade under a motel vanity cabinet as a result of one such occurrence. The new design allows all three cutters to be snapped on and off the head body as a unit--still makes for easy cleaning. The cutters are now locked into the assembly, so no more flying parts when things come open. All in all, the new design is an improvement, in my opinion. As for the shave, it's about what I've gotten from past heads--no changes there. This has been a great shaver that has held up well over the years. This replacement head will help me to keep on shaving!

Complicated!
The replacement shaver head for the Norelco Arctic shaver is quite different from the original head. It takes a bit of reading to understand how to remove the shaver heads for cleaning and then reassemble and reinstall them. The original head was much more easy to clean and use but I understand that it is no longer available. Too bad!

SensoTouch new heads work good
After all the negative reviews I was very reluctant to order this, but decided to try. I've only used it about a week, but it definitely is giving me a very close shave and doing very well on some previously troublesome neck hairs. It does not shave as quickly as the original heads did when they were new, but it does seem to shave me as close. It takes more than one pass. They are comfortable on my face, with no pulling of whiskers. My facial hair is fairly light. I find cleaning a mixed bag. In one sense, it's easier to clean--just pull it off and run it and the razor under the hot water. But it's more 'klutzy' than the old head. Construction definitely seems more flimsy than the original head. Price, IMHO, is outrageous--but there is really no choice other than buying a new razor. We'll have to wait and see how it's working in six months, but so far I'm overall pleased.
