Product Information
WWF War Zone is a wrestling game based on the show of the same name. It includes a wide variety of World Wrestling Federation superstars (mostly current through the year 1998) as well as gameplay modes. Among the wrestlers included are Shawn Michaels, Triple H and Stone Cold as well as The Undertaker and his brother Kane. Each superstar has his own unique "finishing move" programmed in as well as their regular maneuvers.<br><br>The various gameplay options are as follows: WWF Challenge, Versus, Steel Cage, Hardcore, War, and Tag Team. If you choose to play through the Challenge, you are presented with a full wrestling "season" in competition for the belt. The various versus modes allow you to play with up to 4 friends in a tag team match, or a straight-up rumble called the Tornado. While it is essentially a Battle Royal, the War mode is an every man for himself match to the finish. The last man standing wins.<br><br>In addition to the featured superstars and some hidden characters, WWF War Zone gives you the option of creating your own wrestler. You can select your own unique facial expressions, hair, weight, height, body art and wrestling moves (there are over 300 motion-captured moves in the game). It allows you to save up to thirty wrestlers on a memory card.<br><br>To bring authenticity to the game, Vince McMahon and Jim Ross conduct a play by play commentary of each wrestling match. WWF War Zone is also compatible with the Multi Tap.

WWF war zone the first 3D wwf game
I bought a used playstation in 98 just for this game. The graphics were great for their time. The grunts, groans, and yells are from the actual wrestlers. The moves are easy to do, even though they are laid out fighting game style. For example to do the rock bottom with the rock, you have to press right, right, up, triangle and circle. The crowd will boo you if you do the same move over and over again. If you get the crowd on your side you can do double to triple the damage. The Full Motion Video taunts are the best. Ahmed Johnson in particular is hilarious because he sounds as if he has peanut butter in his mouth, haha. It is multiplayer with a multi tap and offers some good modes. If you like WWF and like wrestling games, WWF War Zone is a good time, just don't pay 20 dollars or more for this game. This game is typically worth 10 dollars.

Paved the Way 4 Future Wrestling Games
There were wrestling games before and after this game, but the mistakes they (Accliam) learned they fixed in the future games. WWF Warzone was a test bed full of ideas.Though this game had it's drawbacks like a limited create a wrestler and three button combo system, the graphics where PSX acceptable. The selection of WWF wrestlers was acceptable, but could of been better, same with the move list, it seemed as it was limited to only 1-4 opitions for each move. Given that it was the basics of what future titles like Smackdown 1 and 2 was based off, it's acceptable to give this a 3/5
