Doin' Somethin' Right - Currington, Billy (CD 2005)
In my opinion, this CD has 3 great songs on it. "Good Directions", "Must Be Doin' Something Right" and "Why, Why, Why". I bought this CD for the song "Good Directions" and realized that I knew the other two songs from radio play. Billy Currington writes some of his songs that he sings. Personally, I think it would be better to just download the songs of his that you like versus buying the whole CD. I was a little disappointed in the remaining songs. I do like the song "Walk a Little Staighter Daddy", but that one is not on this CD.In my opinion, this CD has 3 great songs on it. "Good Directions", "Must Be Doin' Something Right" and "Why, Why, Why". I bought this CD for the song "Good Directions" and realized that I knew the other two songs from radio play. Billy Currington writes some of his songs that he sings. Personally, I think it would be better to just download the songs of his that you like versus buying the whole CD. I would recommend this one if you like country
I decided to buy this CD when I heard on ITunes Radio the single 'Must Be Doing Something Right'.I love the CD and bought the first one later, He's only done two so far.The sound is very country -very southern Georgia drawl. Some of the songs are funkier, 'Whole Lot More', and 'She Knows What To Do With A Saturday Night' more pumping, like what you would hear in a live setting. 'She's Got A Way With Me' was with Michael McDonald and is very smooth as you would expect. There are 11 songs. 'Why Why Why' - fast, a good single..'Here I Am" reminds me of Steve Warner. There is a variety of songs but it is always his voice that I personally am drawn to. I hope to hear a lot more from him because I think he sounds great. A ... This ia a wonderful CD. I loved "Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right" on the radio, but when I heard "Good Directions". I knew I had to have the CD. And why not get the one with both songs I like. "I Wanna Be A Hilbilly" is a fun song. I really love "That Changes Everything". "She's Got A Way With Me", with Michael McDonald is smooth and easy listening. Their voices work together very well. (I may be biased on this one, since I grew up with Michael McDonald.) Billy does a great job on "Lucille", which can be difficult when we have heard it so many times by Kenny.
