An after-school favorite of young viewers throughout the late-1980s, DUCKTALES chronicled the wacky adventures of millionaire Scrooge McDuck (Donald Duck's uncle) and his mischievous feathered nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie. As Scrooge constantly thinks up new ways to expand his wealth, the boys help out by guarding his gold from the villainous Beagle Boys. With each episode, the gang finds itself immersed in a new series of animated journeys, often in search of treasure. While Scrooge may be protective of his wallet, he also develops a soft spot for the young ducks Donald Duck left in his care after joining the Navy. Often joining in for the ride are recurring characters like Launchpad McQuack, Gyro Gearloose, Mrs. Beakley, Webbigail Vanderquack, and of course the notorious Beagle Boys and the evil Magica DeSpell.

Bring Classic Disney Back!
Here's a series that I was able to sit through and watch from start to finish. (All one hundred episodes!) This was a series that I never saw as a kid and boy, did I ever miss out! The later addition of the character Bubba didn't thrill me but it wasn't enough to hurt this wonderful show. The premise of the show is simple. It involves three intelligent, trouble-making boys who happen to be the nephews of Donald Duck. Donald can no longer take care of the boys because he wants to join the navy so he turns to his uncle Scrooge for help. After some resistance, his uncle Scrooge takes the boys and that's where the series begins. Each episode follows uncle Scrooge as he goes on his adventures, tries to educate his grand-nephews and goes about running his business. After all, he didn't become ... This series also sparked my interest in the 'duck-verse' so I read the Carl Barks and Don Rosa comics made surrounding these colourful characters. Ducktales is truly a hidden gem. (And uncle Scrooge needs more love!) This is definitely a worthwhile buy whether you're a Disney collector or just an animation enthusiast. My only real complaint is this: I felt that they really should have released Ducktales in chronological order so the viewers wouldn't get confused as to the order of events. (Yes, the series is semi-story oriented...)

Reminiscing for the 1980s it is about time. Finding a decent cartoon these days on the cartoon network is impossible. My particular least favorite is Family Guy Disgusting! I am 35 years old with lust of cartoon nostalgia. From Space Ghost to He-man, or The Superfriends to Volron, Tranformers , Batman the Animated Series and of course DragonBallZ. You name it, I love it. I am trying to introduce these much more wholsome cartoons from the past to my 17 year old nephew.Who just does not know what he missed. His favorite is Spongebob. What sad a dissapointement. You have got to be joking! Cartoons from the 1960s to the 1980s are special, elite, miles stone gems. Thank You Timothy Reilly .Reminiscing for the 1980s it is about time. Ducktales fun continued.
I have always loved this cartoon, I watched them with my 36 year old when she was little. Now they're all together in one place. There are even ones I don't remember seeing. Good clean fun to share with any child in your life, or just horde them for you.
