How to determine what size violin you need:
Violins are available in 8 different sizes: 4/4 (also called full size), 3/4, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/10, 1/16 and 1/32. Size 4/4 is the biggest and size 1/32 is the smallest. All adults, regardless of their size, use the size 4/4 violin.

To measure what size violin best suits you, you need to know the length between your neck and the middle of your left-hand palm (when your hand is fully extended and raised perpendicular to your body, just like holding a violin). Most of the teachers prefer students to use the length from the neck to the wrist for measurement instead of the neck to mid-palm approach. The violin size determined by the neck/wrist approach would be the size that is more comfortable for students to hold. The violin size determined by the neck/mid-palm approach would be the biggest size students should use.

If you have a teacher, you should ask for your teacher's recommendation. If you don't have a teacher, we would recommend using the neck/wrist approach for students not using full size; for students who are deciding whether to used size 3/4 or size 4/4, use the neck/mid-palm approach. This is because it is always better those students feeling comfortable holding and playing the violin. However, while deciding between size 3/4 and size 4/4, if neck/mid-palm approach allows for size 4/4, then buying a size 4/4 is more economical since you don't have to buy another bigger size violin later. This is completely based on economical consideration. You should still decide what best suits your need.

The following table lists the length of each violin size. Find your length using your preferred approach and use that to determine the size of violin to get.

Free Shipping

FREE shipping is eligible for most shipments to lower 48 states of USA via UPS Ground only. We ship from our warehouse in CA either on the same day or the following business days after receipt of payment. UPS guarantee ground delivery in 6 business days within lower 48 states. However, we recommend you allow 14 days for delivery especially during holiday seasons. UPS ship to physical address only. Please verify with UPS if your address is deliverable.

Outside of US 48 states: There is additional charge for orders ship to Alaska, Hawaii, US territories (Puerto Rico, Guam, US Virgin Islands..., etc.), PO Boxes, military addresses (APO/FPO) and international addresses, please contact us at 1-866-798-6688 (International:1-909-581-6192) for quotes before placing bids (We may use different carrier such as USPS). All shipping and handling fees do not include custom duty or local taxes.

Expedited shipping: UPS Next Day Air, UPS 2nd Day Air and UPS 3 Day Select are available with additional shipping and handling fee, please also contact us for quotes before placing bids.

Return for Refund:

If you are not completely satisfied with your violin, you may return the violin within 30 days of delivery for a refund of the item price (shipping charges are not refundable). Returned item must be in the original packaging and condition showing no signs of wear or abuse; otherwise the return will either be refused or a 20% restocking fee will be assessed. Please contact us to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization Number (RMA#). Any items returned without a RMA# on outside of the shipping box may be refused. We recommend that you use a reliable carrier such as FedEx, UPS or DHL and insure your package when returning your item. We are not responsible for shipping damages for returns.

International Buyers

International buyers: We can ship most of our merchandises to Canada, Europe and some of the Asian countries. International buyers must contact us for a quote of additional shipping and handling fee before placing any order. Return Policy

All returns must be returned to Mendini Musical Instruments at the buyers' own cost regardless of reason.

Damage/Exchange Policy

All exchanges must be returned in its original condition except damage upon arrival

Damage upon arrival: If you have received a package damaged upon arrival, please notify us within 24 hours of receipt and retain all original packaging (including the original corrugated box). We will request digital pictures of the damage item for reference, and arrange FREE replacement after we receive the pictures.

Discrepancies: If you have received incorrect merchandise or merchandise with missing parts and/or accessories, please notify us within 24 hours of receipt. We will arrange the FREE replacement.

Purchased a wrong item: If you have discovered that you have purchased an incorrect merchandise, color, size, or simply want to upgrade to another item, you may return it in its original packaging and condition for exchange within 30 days of receipt. Buyers will be responsible for the return shipping cost as well as the regular shipping and handling cost. Free shipping and handling does not apply to exchange merchandise.
