Love it!
I love this series. I have never seen the Buffy series, but this series has encouraged me to watch it next. I love the fact that he is the only "good" vampire and no one ever trusts him at first. Its great that even his friends carry around vampire protection in case the "bad Angel" comes out. Despite all of this, he still helps people, asking nothing in return. He wouldn't even ask for payment if Cordelia didn't push him to do it all the time! The fact that his girlfriend could probably whip his but is a refreshing change from all the poor, helpless damsels in distress. Finally! a strong and indepentdent woman for a change! Angel Series
Angel is a spin off of the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer series with Sarah Michelle Gellar. The main star, David Boreanez, is a vampire cursed with a soul by Gypsies. Set in L.A., he fights along side his colleagues and friends to help "the helpless" in order to prove his soul is worthy of redemptions by the Powers that be. Primary adversaries include demons, lawyers, other vampires, psychos, and the obscure. The show has it's quirks, problems, and issues like any other show, with the primary concern being how the powers can damn Angel's soul for deeds the vampire Angelus did when he was without a soul, thus without being himself. Average dvd set, but show is worth the watch!
Angel Season 1 dvd slim set: This tv series is, in my opinion, 10 times better than Buffy was. It takes the best characters and runs with it with a darker and more well-written storyline that unravels season after season until the abrupt and shocking Season 5 finale. Season 1, though, is the weakest of the series, in my opinion; this is because there are only a handful of characters on the show and the season is very episodic with villain-of-the-week stories. However, things get interesting halfway through and finishes strong. The next few season are just powerful and amazing (get better and better in my opinion). I purposely got the new slim line version so that I could save shelf space for my dvd collection, and one thing I noticed about the packaging is that it appears ... I noticed that some discs didn't match others with release date (like they were from older dvd releases) and style/design was different. Several discs had letters (spelling A-N-G-E-L) but others were newer and didn't have the letters so it was a confusing set of discs. All the episodes are there, just different versions of discs, which is weird.

Angel season 1
I saw a couple of the shows on TV,however I work early so I could only watch one of two shows. After a week I was hooked and relized it was a continuing show, not just a 30 min sitcom. After recieving the season 1 set, I now have to get the rest, and BUFFY because this is where Angel came from. I work 50+ hours a week so this is a nice release and I can watch at my leisure. This isn't a bloody show I would recomend this to anyone that just wanted a little escape.I saw a couple of the shows on TV,however I work early so I could only watch one of two shows. Awesome series!
I was a huge fan of this series when it was out on TV. Throughout 5seasons it was exciting and entertaining! This is a must watch series for anyone who likes shows with vampires, monsters, magic, action, and just plain excitement!
